Rambai Fruit Tree (baccaurea motleyana)

Velvety, salmon colored, 1-inch round, wrinkly fruit hang in long clusters of showy strands from older branches and sport a translucent, white interior sweet flesh that is segmented and easily separates, like a tangerine. The fruit is eaten raw, made into drinks or is sometimes pickled and served with curries. A low-growing tree, ordinarily to 30 or 40 feet and occasionally up to 60 feet tall, it has a short, thick trunk and a broad, dense, rounded crown.
