Golden Prickly Pear Tree (sindora siamensis)

Super Weird spiny seed pods are the main attraction to this RARE and extremely hard to find tree which can reach up to 100 feet tall and with a trunk diameter of 2 to 3 feet, at maturity. Sindora has a dense, spreading, umbrella-like crown and a beautiful shape, which is easily grown as an ornamental, shade-providing tree in the spacious tropical landscape. The odd fruits hold one to three seeds in a flat, spiny pod with an edible aril and the roasted seeds are used to make a tea-like drink. It is valued for its high quality, dark wood in Southeast Asia.
